National stigma and discrimination report card

Rachel Green

The report card provides a nationally representative picture of the scale and impact of mental health stigma and discrimination in Australia. It shows where progress has been made in reducing stigma and discrimination, and where more work is needed. The most significant burden of discrimination was in relation to finding and keeping a job.
Submission

Submission on the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

This submission highlights concerns that without due consideration of the complex nature of psychosocial disability, the proposed changes to the NDIS may reinforce inequities in access, increase unmet need and shift demand to acute, intensive and costly parts of the broader mental health system.
Strategy

National suicide prevention outcomes framework

The framework provides a way of measuring the impact of efforts being made in suicide prevention in Australia. This overview provides a description of the framework, its components and how they operate together. The framework comprises four components: an overview, an outcomes map, data quality and improvement plan and a monitoring and reporting plan.
Report

National report card 2024: monitoring the performance of Australia’s mental health system

The report examines the performance of the Australian mental health system, the prevalence of mental health challenges and the drivers behind it. It shows a steady rise in financial stress and the number of Australians delaying mental health care due to cost.
Strategy

National suicide prevention strategy 2025–2035

Drawing on the latest research, evidence and insights from people with lived and living experience of suicide, the strategy outlines a comprehensive approach to suicide prevention. It aims to unify the efforts of governments, communities and service providers to improve suicide prevention outcomes. The strategy is organised into three domains.
