This report analyses the sentencing of category A and B serious youth offences from their introduction in February 2018 to 30 June 2024. It identifies the most common offences sentenced in Victorian courts, the sentences imposed on children and young people, and the age and gender of children and young people who committed those offences.

This report examines Commonwealth offences sentenced in Victoria’s adult courts in the five years to 30 June 2023. It identifies the agencies that prosecuted Commonwealth offences, the demographics of federal offenders, the sentence types imposed for Commonwealth offences and the most commonly sentenced Commonwealth offences in Victoria.

This report makes 12 recommendations for reform to the sentencing of occupational health and safety (OHS) offences in Victoria. The recommendations relate to victims and other affected persons, changes in sentencing practices, and fine payment and distribution.
