This study, based on focus groups and interviews with 53 representatives of government departments, NGOs and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations across Australia, examined the numbers, needs and outcomes of Indigenous care leavers, and associated program and policy supports.

This is the final report of the evaluation of the Salvation Army Westcare Continuing Care Program, which was based in Melbourne’s Western Metropolitan Region from 2013-19. The program aimed to provide relationship-based support to assist the planning, preparation and support needs of young people during their transition from out-of-home care (OOHC) to independent living.

Indigenous care leavers in Victoria: final report
This report presents the findings of a 14 month exploratory study of Indigenous care leavers in Victoria. The study aimed to examine current leaving care and post-care systems available to Indigenous care leavers, paying particular attention to relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous agencies, and differences in their approach to service delivery.
