This report presents the views of People With Disability Australia members and has been developed in the context of proposed changes and the Independent Review of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

This paper examines the right to protest in New South Wales and the central role of the Summary Offences Act 1988, which encourages co-operation between protesters and police. That Act can also result in courts issuing ‘authorisation’ and ‘prohibition’ orders. The effects of those orders ar​e discussed.

Liberal democracy is under threat from tech platforms, identity politics and hostile foreign powers, such as China or Russia. This paper argues that Western liberal democracies lack resilience - across the West, economic models are in disarray, while social models engender cultural fragmentation, and politics is breeding social polarisation.

Supported decision making involves building the skills and knowledge of people with disability, their friends, families, carers, peers and professionals. This policy is about helping everyone understand what supported decision making is, and how we can better support people with disability to make decisions in the NDIS.

This consultation paper seeks community views on a staged approach to considering implementation of the civil surveillance reforms recommended by the Queensland Law Reform Commission (QLRC). It also seeks feedback on the workability of those aspects of the QLRC draft Bill that impose the use prohibitions and communication or publication prohibitions.
