In 2023 the Australian Government reformed the Paid Parental Leave (PPL) scheme to make it more flexible and gender neutral. A key objective of the reforms was to encourage both parents to share caring arrangements. This project explored how forms and websites support parents’ intentions to share their parental leave entitlements.

This scorecard for 2024-25 reflects the state of gender equality in Australian workplaces. During this year, the national gender pay gap continued to narrow. Positive signs of progress sit alongside areas where more work needs to be done to ensure workplaces are fair, equal and safe. The reports identifies 3 key opportunities for accelerated change.

A report showing how the gender pay gap impacts women and men at different ages, and how employer interventions can reduce the gap. It also provides insight into how those actions could address growing concerns for men including the lack of flexible work options, long working hours and unequal access to parental leave.
