This research project explores the best ways for community service providers to identify and respond to women and children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness as a result of family violence, but who do not specifically identify themselves as such to service providers.

This report provides findings from the Mission Australia Youth Survey, showing that poor family functioning and serious mental illness are factors that impact on the risks of homelessness for young people aged 15-19 years living in Australia.

A key strategy to deliver this project has been to establish a practice culture that permits and enables the Housing SA workforce at all levels to consider a person’s needs, safety and well-being, as well as policy adherence and process in developing a service response.
