This quick guide provides an overview of the past decade of federal government policy on multiculturalism in Australia.

This policy briefing paper is presented as part of an Australian Research Linkage Project on mapping social services in multicultural communities, where one of its key objectives is to understand the experiences of service delivery and provision modes to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

Despite over 30 years of arts and cultural policy attention, there remains a widespread view among the general public and artists alike that creative production does not reflect Australia’s culturally diverse population. This book explores the relationship between visionary aspects of practice and policy.

This research project sought to learn about Australian Muslims’ concerns, priorities and experiences of hate, violence and negative public commentary in the wake of the tragic Christchurch mosque attack. The project also sought to give Australian Muslims an opportunity to share their stories of successful community initiatives.

The purpose of this report is to provide a snapshot of activities and achievements supporting multicultural and faith communities between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020 across the Victorian government.
