The purpose of this project is to inform the development and harness the benefits to Australians of a streamlined, harmonised, effective and predictable operating environment essential for a vibrant health and medical research eco-system.

This research was commissioned by the National Disability Research Partnership, and was designed to examine strategies to develop disability research capacity in Australia.

The 'Kitmap' project highlights the research infrastructure across New Zealand's government-funded research organisations, including Crown Research Institutes, the National eScience Infrastructure, and Callaghan Innovation. Those who work in the research, science and innovation sector will have more visibility of the research infrastructure available to support their work with the publication of this report.

With the expansion of the open data movement in recent years, the issues of data discovery and data reuse have received more attention from various stakeholders. This project report focuses on characterising the contexts of data discovery, both within and across disciplines, to inform the design and evaluation of data discovery services.

Persistent identifiers (PIDs) are unique alpha-numeric codes that positively identify entities such as people, places and things. This report sets out the benefits of PIDs primarily through the lens of metadata reuse.
