Measuring social cohesion: conceptual fragmentation and policy consequences
Governments, academics and communities have defined social cohesion through multiple, overlapping lenses. This paper aims to identify tensions in current definitional frameworks. It seeks to inform policy discussions on how to operationalise social cohesion as part of a wider system approach. The paper summarises four international case studies and measurement approaches, including Australia.

Footprints in time: LSIC housing research report
Utilising Longitudinal Study of Indigenous Children (LSIC) data, this report provides both a descriptive overview of the housing circumstances that Indigenous children and their families live in, and the way housing-related factors can help or hinder those children growing up strong. Two of the major dimensions explored in the analyses are housing tenure and remoteness.

It outlines a framework for allocating public funding that incentivises and supports developers to deliver better community engagement, and ensures new net zero industries strengthen local and First Nations communities and workforces.

Maintain the momentum: three yearly report to Parliament on the progress of prevention 2022-2024
The report captures Victoria's progress to prevent family violence, gendered violence and violence against women between January 2022 to December 2024, analysing: positive progress and change; enablers of and barriers to prevention work; emerging trends and evolving practices; and opportunities and recommendations for further action and investment. It makes 15 recommendations to the Victorian Government.

Go Dutch: learnings from The New Zealand Initiative's visit to the Netherlands, 22–27 June 2025
The report follows a New Zealand study tour of 42 business and civic leaders in the Netherlands. The report distils the most transferable lessons from the visit. Both countries are small, export-reliant democracies. It shows how the Netherlands has turned its small size into strength through practical thinking and steady delivery.
