On 27 February 2018, the Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, David Littleproud MP, announced a review of Australian Wool Innovation’s (AWI) performance and governance. EY were selected by the department to conduct the review in March 2018. EY considered AWI’s delivery on core objectives including research, development, extension and marketing services to woolgrowers and other matters of public interest.

The review was conducted with significant stakeholder input. EY received written submission​s, conducted a survey of over 400 woolgrowers and interviewed 110 stakeholders. Participating stakeholders included woolgrowers and their industry bodies, AWI Directors and staff, research and development organisations and others across the wool supply chain.
