The draft Plan 2018 takes a principle based approach to guiding governments, industry and the community in managing this importance resource together.

It was developed by Australian, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Northern Territory governments in consultation with the Great Artesian Basin Coordinating Committee. They considered outcomes of the 2015 review of the Strategic Management Plan 2000 when drafting the new plan.

Feedback will be considered by Basin governments when drafting the final plan.
