Australia’s major companies are calling for major shortfalls in the nation’s electricity network to be addressed in this submission to the COAG national energy reform group. While a national energy market had promised greater competition and lower energy prices in reality, the benefits to date from reform have been limited. According to BCA member companies, the biggest barrier to achieving these benefits is Australia’s inadequate and overloaded electricity transmission system.
