These procedures set out the actions necessary for compliance with the Protecting and Supporting Children and Young People Policy. All staff have a duty to recognise safety, welfare or wellbeing concerns for children and young people that arise from or during the course of their work.
It outlines responsibilities of staff and provides overview flowcharts with step-by-step processes for all staff to respond to concerns about the safety, welfare or wellbeing of children or young people. It covers all areas related to reporting to Community Services such as what must be reported, how to report and what happens after reporting. The same level of information is provided for when the Child Wellbeing Unit needs to be contacted.
Beyond the reporting process, further detail is provided for cooperation and collaboration with Community Services, working with other agencies, the exchange of information and responding to concerns in specific or unique circumstances.
