The aim of this paper is to twofold. First, it will present some new ideas about how we might reconceptualise notions of juridical citizenship, in a way that sees it more effectively and meaningfully reflect the everyday experiences of participating in community and society. Secondly it explores these ideas in relation to neighbourhood houses and suggests what the implications are for planning in Australian cities.
