The Pacific Islands region’s unique and diverse natural environment is already under threat from climate change, with Pacific Islands experiencing tropical cyclones, sea level rise, storm surges, coral bleaching, changing rainfall patterns and droughts. At the same time, growing public debt threatens the region's economies. This report looks at how climate finance, complemented by debt relief, can help address the climate crisis without exacerbating debt.
