Batteries are essential as the world transitions to renewable energy and Australia achieves net zero emissions by 2050. Australia is a major producer of raw battery materials, but most battery manufacturing currently occurs overseas.
The Australian government is committed to supporting battery industries in Australia. Public feedback will help shape Australia’s future battery industries and inform initiatives.
