Description
This report includes case studies, impact statements and other qualitative data to assess the impact of the Victorian Women’s Health Program (VWHP) across five intersecting priority health areas: gender equality, gendered violence prevention, sexual and reproductive health, mental health and wellbeing, women in a changing society.
In 2022, the Victorian Government announced additional funding for the VWHP, totalling $19.4 million for the 2022–2024 period. This enabled a landmark multi-pronged evaluation of the sector’s contribution over time towards advancing Victorian women’s health and equality.
In doing so, the report findings support:
- Improved understanding of the women’s health sector’s contribution to improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Victorians.
- Increased evidence about what works in health promotion and primary prevention practice to support the most effective use of funding.
- Better understanding of the value of collective impact evaluation in demonstrating impact, progress and the need for sustained investment in long-term change work.
