Description
This submission responds to the 2025 National Small Business Strategy arguing it fails to deliver solutions to Australia's productivity crisis. The submission proposes eight core budget priorities and a suite of related recommendations to stimulate the economy by reducing regulatory pressure on Australian business.
Proposed priorities
- Reduce regulatory burden to create a more business-friendly environment.
- Enhance Australia’s competitiveness through comprehensive tax and other economic reforms.
- Support business adoption of sustainability practices.
- Assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and not for profits (NFPs) with targeted support.
- Alleviate cost-of-living and doing business pressures to support struggling Australians.
- Attract, developing, and retaining talent to address chronic workforce shortages.
- Conduct a comprehensive review of the tax system for improved efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability.
- Improve policy development processes through better consultation and transparency.
