Description
This fact sheet reports on the number of people sentenced in 2022–23 for committing a serious offence while serving a community correction order (CCO) in Victoria.
Key facts
- Between 16 January 2012 (when CCOs were introduced) and 30 June 2023, there were 77,792 people serving a CCO.
- There were 4,161 people sentenced for a serious offence from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.
- Of those, 516 people were sentenced for a serious offence committed while serving a CCO.
