This report explores the intersection of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with collaborative research activities between Australian and Indian higher education institutions. It examines how government commitments are reflected in these collaborations and considers the potential of SDGs to serve as a lens to guide deeper, more impactful research partnerships between the two countries.
The findings reflect the commitments made by both Australia and India to the achievement of SDG targets, and the strong role of collaborative research in strengthening developmental outcomes in both countries. By analysing joint research publications from 2015 onwards, the report highlights key areas of collaboration, identifies emerging priorities and uncovers gaps where alignment with SDG targets can be strengthened.
Offering strategic insights for scholars, policymakers and industry leaders to advance partnerships in ways that benefit both nations and the global community, the report provides an analysis of Australia-India research collaboration driving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
