Systemic advocacy insight report: no. 2
This report addresses the emerging issues identified by advocacy organisations through their direct work with people with disability. Advocacy organisations are uniquely positioned to identify these issues, as they work closely with people with disability when challenges arise. These issues are often complex and multifaceted, requiring coordinated approaches despite limited resources.
Key actions and opportunities for collaboration identified during the forum were across these issues:
- housing
- guardianship and safeguarding
- transport
- child protection.
The report underscores the unique role of advocates in identifying emerging issues. Advocates once again called for a framework to support their systemic advocacy services. The framework would promote collaboration between organisations and go some way towards coordinating efforts, better targeting the small amount of systemic advocacy each organisation is able to offer.
