Description

Young women and gender-diverse people in Australia are overrepresented in experiences of financial stress, gender-based violence, medical misogyny and climate anxiety. At the same time they are underrepresented and often excluded from decision-making and leadership roles. Without their voices represented, there is an absence of critical knowledge to inform forward-thinking, sustainable policymaking and to address emerging issues that affect them most.

This policy brief provides a summary of the most pressing issues facing young women and gender-diverse people and present recommendations under five priority areas:

  1. economic security
  2. gender-based violence
  3. medical misogyny
  4. climate change
  5. the national policy agenda.
