The National Aged Care Data Clearinghouse is an independent and centralised repository of national aged care data. The Data Clearinghouse was developed to provide aged care data to a range of stakeholders including policy makers, researchers, service providers and consumers.
The Data Clearinghouse aims to encourage transparency and independence in aged care policy research and evaluation through the provision of data and information in a timely manner for research, evaluation and analysis, subject to data release protocols. It supports the development and improvement of evidence-based policy and planning in aged care which are essential for providing the best possible outcomes for the community.
The Data Clearinghouse project is a component of the Australian Government’s Living Longer. Living Better. package of aged care reform measures under the sub-measure: Supporting aged care research and evaluation.
What the Data Clearinghouse provides
The National Aged Care Data Clearinghouse can provide statistical information on clients and services within a range of national programs and services, including residential aged care, aged care packages provided in the community, the Transition Care Program, the National Respite for Carers Program and the Aged Care Assessment Program.
