Description
This policy bulletin summarises the findings of a study which examined the work experiences of Queensland public servants living with a diagnosed anxiety disorder.
Key findings are:
- Workplace accommodations tailored to individuals with anxiety disorders allow them to reach and retain their positions;
- Some employees with anxiety disorders report accommodations to be missing;
- Not all people experiencing disability want accommodations;
- Organisational barriers and stigma can stop individuals receiving accommodations;
- Accommodating employees with anxiety disorders can improve workplace productivity.
