Just months after chief executive, Larry Marshall, shocked the global scientific community by changing the CSIRO's focus from climate change research to climate change mitigation, Federal Science Minister, Greg Hunt, has ordered the national science body to re-instate climate science as a core priority. He says the move represents the direction and priorities of the new government, but would not say whether the many leading climate scientists who lost their jobs would be reinstated.
