This paper is designed to give an overview of issues for participants with complex needs in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The paper discusses four main themes – the definition of complex needs, choice and control, restrictive practices, and participant voice.

On-the-job training supports for people with intellectual disability employed in aged care

This study describes components of training provided to people with intellectual disability undergoing traineeships for 12 months in four aged care services. It finds that successful traineeships for people with intellectual disability require support from both the trainee and mentors.

National Alliance of Capacity-building Organisations (NACBO): final evaluation report

The 2-year evaluation found that the principles and capacity-building processes used by NACBO changed outcomes for people with disability and promoted authentic inclusion.

This paper argues that there is a need to increase the involvement of Australian general practitioners (GPs) working in private practice to realise the potential of direct-acting antiviral treatments for people with the hepatitis C virus.
