The recruitment, retention, and support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander foster carers: a literature review

There are significantly fewer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers than there are Indigenous children in out of home care. This report examines the recruitment, retention, training, assessment and support of Indigenous people caring for these children.

Research use in the Australian child and family welfare sector

The aim of the report’s authors was to bridge the gulf between knowledge and action, especially with reference to the Australian child welfare sector. Research evidence can powerfully inform policy and practice. Too often, however, this is not the case.

Assessing the quality and comprehensiveness of child protection practice frameworks

This report provides an analysis and evaluation of a range of child protection practice frameworks, in terms of the way they respond to the values, principles and approach to working with children and families applicable to the continuum of child protection practice.
