This report examines victim-survivors’ knowledge of and experiences using alternative reporting options, drawing on data collected from a broader study of alternative reporting options for sexual assault.

To build the evidence base, the authors of this report drew on an expert advisory group, an evidence review, data analysis/synthesis and extensive sector consultation to guide development of this theory of change.

The main aim of this research is to identify effective primary prevention sexual violence and harassment (SVH) interventions at all levels of the social ecology (individual/relationship, organisational/community, system/institutional and societal levels).

This research focuses on perpetrators of image-based abuse and front-line workers who engage with perpetrators on a professional basis. The research is based on detailed interviews and provides unique insights into the attitudes, circumstances and motivations of image-based abuse perpetration and the visibility of this behaviour within intervention services.

Image-based sexual abuse (IBSA) refers to the non-consensual creation, distribution or threatened distribution of nude or sexual images. This research examines the prevalence, nature and impacts of IBSA victimisation and perpetration in Australia.
