The Evolve program aims to transition three (former) Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) into jobs-focused social enterprises through consulting and funding. To date, this Australian pilot program has highlighted the tensions between establishing viable business models alongside a focus on social purpose.

Australia’s National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) introduced psychosocial recovery coaching as a ‘recovery oriented’ support for people with psychosocial disability in responsiveness to challenges in accessing these supports. This paper examines the outcomes of psychosocial recovery coaching and suggests future iterations of NDIS psychosocial supports should align with personal recovery outcomes.

As part of this research project, Centre for Social Impact researchers interviewed and surveyed NDIS participants receiving Psychosocial Recovery Coaching to explore their experiences and outcomes of this service for people with psychosocial disability.

In this report, the authors draw on research findings to illustrate how effective organisation design can enable NDIS Provider organisation leaders to build an engaged workforce, deliver good services, and achieve sustainable growth.
