In 2006, the Australian Government introduced a series of changes to the family law system. This evaluation of the Australian family law system provides an extensive evidence base about the use and operation of the family law system in Australia (and arguably internationally) than has previously been available.

This national evaluation covers three of the Stronger Families and Communities Strategy (SFCS) initiatives: Communities for Children (CfC), Invest to Grow and Local Answers. It examines service provision, service coordination, Indigenous families and children in CfC sites, factors that facilitate or hinder service provision and outcomes, and sustainability.

This is the final report of the 3-year evaluation of the Australian Government’s Stronger Families and Communities Strategy 2000-2004 and summarises the achievements and learnings from the Strategy.
