This study aimed to develop a culturally acceptable and valid scale to assess depressive symptoms in older Indigenous Australians, to determine the prevalence of depressive disorders in the older Kimberley community, and to investigate the sociodemographic, lifestyle and clinical factors associated with depression in this population.

Interventions to review were identified by searching online databases and grey literature. The interventions reviewed were limited to those which specifically targeted depression and anxiety disorders, or which targeted mental illness more broadly but included an assessment of changes in stigmatising attitudes towards depression, anxiety disorders or suicide.

This review aims to establish the nature and efficacy of Australian school-based prevention and early intervention programs for anxiety and depression. A number of schools' programs produced positive outcomes.
