For at least a decade and a half, Chinese hackers have conducted a widespread campaign of industrial cyber espionage, targeting private sector companies in an effort to steal intellectual property, trade secrets and other information that could help China become economically more competitive.

This background paper was prepared by the Curtin University Sustainability Policy Institute for the Eleventh Regional EST Forum in Asia. As the improvement of Corporate social responsibility (CSR) efficiency leads to the reduction of CSR cost, CSR efficiency is becoming increasingly prominent for construction companies. In this research, the three-stage data envelopment analysis (DEA) model is adopted to analyze the CSR efficiency of Chinese construction companies in the period of 2012–2016.

The Sino-Indonesian relationship is complicated. While there is a mutual economic requirement to maintain bilateral relations, China’s geopolitical imperatives and Indonesia’s suspicions, coupled with its underlying ethnic tensions, combine to constrain it.
