At the University of Melbourne, the introduction of the Melbourne Model presented many course designers with the chance to begin with a blank slate as though they are creating an entirely new university. This was especially so for those interested in interdisciplinary studies and this paper reports on the first iteration of one of the new interdisciplinary university breadth subject: An Ecological History of Humanity
