Description

Interview with Julie Oberin, Chair Women's Services Network.

Federal Minister for Women Kelly O'Dwyer will join her state counterparts in Adelaide today for talks on the final phase of the 12-year National Plan to reduce violence against women and children.

The two-day summit will hear from service providers and women's groups about what needs to happen in the crucial fourth phase of the plan, due to begin next year.

Despite an increased focus on family violence, it remains pervasive.

It's estimated that eight women are hospitalised every day after an assault by their partner with police dealing with an average of 5,000 cases every week.
