This report is based on data from the Motor Vehicle Register (MVR). The statistics presented in this publication have been categorised differently to the traditional motor vehicle statistics produced by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA). The objective was to produce a categorisation better suited to the estimation of fuel use and levels of emissions.
