Description

The new Federal Minister for Indigenous Australians, Ken Wyatt, has promised a more community-led approach to tackling the life expectancy gap of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

It's an acknowledgement of a wider push for Indigenous Australians to have greater control not only over their healthcare, but other services too.

Over the next few days some of the leading thinkers and practitioners in Indigenous health and wellbeing are gathering in Darwin for a major conference organised by the Lowitja Institute.
