Victorian Indigenous Affairs Framework 2013 - 2018
In 2006, the Victorian Indigenous Affairs Framework (VIAF) outlined the areas likely to have the greatest impact on closing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Victorians. From safe family environments and positive child development; through strong cultural identity and the prevention of violence; to economic sustainability for individuals, families and communities - our direction was firmly set. Efforts since that time have been founded in collaboration and - in partnership with Indigenous communities and service providers - we’re beginning to see tangible results. The VIAF 2010 - 2013, then, is the next stage in this process – a long term, intergenerational strategy committing to measurable targets which all Victorian Government Departments are determined to achieve.
