This 2003 blueprint outlined measures to be taken to ensure that all Victorian governement schools actively pursue excellence in teaching and that learning outcomes for all students continue to improve.
Its summary of actions are:
Recognising and responding to diverse student needs:
Developing a new resource allocation model
Building the skills of the education workforce to enhance the teaching–learning relationship
Building leadership capacity
Creating and supporting a performance and development culture
Teacher professional development
Continuously improving schools
Leading schools fund
The ultimate measure of the success of the Blueprint for Government Schools will depend on effective partnerships of joint initiatives between the Government and the Department, schools and their teachers, principals and other workers, parents and other school community members.
