Description
This report informs development of more sustainable models of resourcing for the community services sector in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). It presents a comprehensive picture of the costs involved in delivering community services in the ACT, the cost pressures experienced by community organisations, and ways to ensure funding is sustainable and at levels that meet community needs.
The report was commissioned by ACTCOSS, on behalf of the ACT’s Community Services Industry Strategy Steering Group (ISSG) and the ACT Government. The report recommends a revised approach to indexation; a review of funding arrangements to ensure cost coverage; and initiatives to reduce cost pressures and address rising demand.
