The community services sector is filled with people who work tirelessly to make a difference and believe in the collective effort of addressing disadvantage. Their crucial work is often unseen. They are deeply committed to positive change and equality, opportunity and wellbeing for everyone in Queensland. 

In mid-2025, Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) held Town Hall meetings in seven regional cities and in South East Queensland to hear directly from frontline workers, community sector leaders and volunteers who keep the sector going. This report analyses what was heard with data from the annual Community Sector Survey, collating the feedback to provide an overview of emerging and growing challenges for the sector. The results show a sector in need of support.
