Social mobility progression report 2022: mind the gap

Publisher
Social mobility Employment Career development Workforce diversity Social inclusion United Kingdom
Description

Social equity is vital to create a fair and progressive society. No one should face barriers because of the circumstances they grew up in. That is why enhancing social mobility must be a constant aspiration – particularly in the UK, where the link between background and educational and employment outcomes is typically the strongest among developed countries.

The study is the latest advancement by KPMG to deepen understanding of social inequalities in the workplace, while sharing its insights with the wider business community.

Making that aim a reality requires deepening KPMG's understanding of the barriers faced by all historically underrepresented groups. This report marks a critical step in the organisation's journey, examining the progression rates of employees, looking at gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation as well as socio-economic background.
