In this paper, BCARR looks at the link between improved broadband adoption and productivity growth at the individual business level for the period 2009–10 to 2018–19.

The research shows that firms that switch from DSL to fibre/cable-based broadband experience increased productivity growth. Growth is highest in the year immediately following adoption of high-speed broadband.

The research also found that more productive firms tend to have high-speed broadband connections.
