Call It Out racism register: the first six months
The Jumbunna Institute for Education and Research, in collaboration with the National Justice Project (NJP), developed Call It Out, as an online register to record all forms and levels of racism and discrimination experienced by First Nations Peoples. Call It Out was officially launched on 21 March 2022, to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Call It Out provides a simple and secure online reporting mechanism without the usual barriers which often inhibit reports of racism. It is intended to provide First Nations Peoples who have experienced racial discrimination, including systemic racism, or witnesses to such racism, with the opportunity to share their experiences.
This report provides a preliminary analysis of the incidents of racism recorded during the first six months of the Call It Out register, covering the period 21 March 2022 to 20 September 2022.
