Description

This independent review was led by former NT Police Officer and NT Police Association President, Vince Kelly, and critically evaluated and recommended improvements in policing models, resource allocation, and staff wellbeing practices to meet contemporary standards and community expectations.

The review involved extensive consultation with a wide range of stakeholders, including sworn officers, non-sworn staff, the Northern Territory Police Association, various Northern Territory government departments, community organisations, Aboriginal organisations and the general public.

The Northern Territory Government has considered the 18 recommendations outlined in the report. It has accepted 15 of the recommendations, is considering 2 that require further consultation and stakeholder engagement, and has not accepted one.
