Strategy
Description

This is New South Wales' first dedicated whole-of-government domestic and family violence, and sexual violence primary prevention strategy. It provides a coordinated approach to strengthen primary prevention work and draws on the diverse expertise and place-based knowledge of the NSW community sector.

This Strategy sets out: the problem and the impact, the causes, how a focus on prevention can be the solution, the policy context and a framework for action.

The Strategy has three priorities:

  1. Address drivers of violence in high impact settings of cultural influence, including in local communities, schools, workplaces and sporting clubs.
  2. Support Aboriginal-led domestic, family and sexual violence prevention efforts and self-determination.
  3. Provide centralised support to prevention efforts across the state and build the evidence base.
