Australian medical research and innovation priorities 2024–2026
These priorities guide research investments made by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) in order to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians and to develop the Australian biomedical research industries. The priorities are set every two years in alignment with the five-yearly medical research and innovation strategy.
The priorities are intended to be broadly applicable and interconnected, working together to provide comprehensive strategic direction. They address a wide range of issues, from consumer involvement in research to the impact of environmental factors on health. For each priority area, the document outlines the reasoning behind its inclusion and suggests an implementation approach.
