For over 70 years, successive Australian Governments have issued a Cabinet Handbook to formalise procedures that reflect the enduring principle of collective responsibility. The structure and processes of Cabinet and its committees continue to evolve, enabling governments to respond to current challenges and advance priorities that matter to the Australian community. 

The handbook affirms the Cabinet’s commitment to progress for all Australians. The principles it outlines are intended to support this mission.
