Description
Following the publication of the Review of Child Safety Arrangements under the National Quality Framework (CSR), Education Ministers agreed to the implementation of recommendations. This Consultation Regulation Impact Statement considers the potential impact of several recommendations arising from the CSR, including regulatory and non-regulatory options to achieving each recommendation’s intended outcome.
This paper overviews the proposed areas for reform, which include:
- management of digital devices
- child safety training
- responding to educator and staff member conduct
- strengthening the obligations and reporting requirements around Working With Children Checks (WWCCs)
- improving safety of the physical service environment
- additional recommendations to strengthen the NQF and improve child safety.
