Report
Housing and living options for people with disabilities in British Columbia
A key informant study
Description
This report includes a jurisdictional scan of housing in Canada, a focused review of housing in British Columbia (BC), and a key informant study mapping the housing options available to people with disability in BC.
The report shows how the province has been able to move away from group homes, creating more diverse community-based housing options for people with disability. Researchers looked at how housing and support options for people with disability have changed in British Columbia, Canada (BC) over the last two decades. What they found was that individualised approaches to housing and support now play a much larger role than traditional residential settings, such as group homes.
