Description

The Data and AI Exchange brought together 99 representatives from across Scottish and UK public life to work through what both the United Kingdom (UK) and Scottish governments’ artificial intelligence (AI) ambitions require in practice. This report sets out what that process produced: the recommendations that emerged, the consensus that underpinned them and the questions that remain unresolved.

Across three sessions covering infrastructure, adoption and applications, and ethics and governance, a recurring theme emerged: not whether AI should be developed, but on whose terms, under whose oversight and to whose benefit. The report makes three recommendations for each of the UK and Scottish governments.
